McClintock Plaza

McClintock Plaza, located in Downtown San Diego, is an adaptive reuse of a circa 1910 historic building (Bekins Storage Warehouse).

In the early 1980’s, we worked with the City of San Diego to develop the structural criteria to be used in the evaluation and strengthening  of existing structures for adaptive reuse which became the standard by which other projects in San Diego are evaluated.

The project consisted of the remodel of an existing 6-story, 60,000 s.f. concrete building from a storage warehouse to mixed use retail/office and a new 6-story adjacent concrete parking structure.  The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
